Meet a Mom: Nandita, Yuvi and a studio built around both
The South Shore Moms did not ask about sneakers first. They asked about Yuvi, about leaving fifteen years in global fashion, and about the phrase painted on the studio wall.

From India to the South Shore
Nandita left India at nineteen to study fashion in Europe, then worked her way through Japan, China, Italy, Spain and the UK for global brands. The South Shore is where it finally felt like home. She lives in Hingham with her husband Sumit and their son Yuvraj, Yuvi to everyone, who was four when the piece ran and loves monster trucks, trains and painting.
Why the studio exists
After fifteen years in the industry she wanted two things at once: to join art and fashion in a way that lasts, and to be there for her son. She rented a small studio to paint and sell custom pieces. Friends asked her to teach them. The workshops grew from there.
“It wasn't about selling art anymore, it was about sharing it.”

Beautiful chaos
That is how she describes running a business with a small child. The advice she was given and passes on is about being there, not getting everything right, and being kind to yourself while you learn.
“You don't have to do it all. Be present, not perfect.”
Scatter joy and see what grows
Her mantra is the line on the studio murals. It explains why the work is wearable, too: art that goes where you go instead of hanging on a wall. The studio also works with local schools, PTOs and recreation departments, and supports local fundraisers.
“Art doesn't have to stay on the wall.”
