From pop-ups to a home in Hingham ♡

Professional design experience, opened up to everyone.

Trained in fashion and footwear design in Milan, with a Master’s in Design from the UK, Nandita Singh Maan brings more than 15 years of global fashion, footwear and product design experience to The Boston Artistry. Before founding the studio, her professional career included senior footwear design leadership, with her most recent industry role as a Senior Footwear Designer at Wolverine Worldwide.

What began with pop-ups and community art events has grown into a creative studio in Hingham where kids, teens, adults and families can learn, create and experience the real process behind art, fashion and design, guided by a team of professional artists, trained instructors and designers.

A vision for the next generation of makers

Nandita is passionate about using creativity to build confidence, spark opportunity and create a more intentional, sustainable future. Through The Boston Artistry, she brings together professional artists, trained instructors and designers to give children, teens, adults and families a hands on, guided experience in art, fashion, design and wearable art.

“Real skills. Original ideas. A more creative world.”

The Founder Story

From professional design to a creative home in Hingham.

After building a professional career across fashion, footwear and product design (including training in Milan, a Master’s in Design from the UK and senior footwear design experience), Nandita created The Boston Artistry around one simple idea: professional artists and designers can share what they know without taking away the maker’s own voice.

The result is a studio where real techniques, real materials and real design thinking are made approachable for children, teens, adults and families, whether they are joining a class, camp, birthday party, sneaker workshop or community experience.

“I wanted to build the kind of creative space I wish everyone had access to, where professional artists and designers share what they know, but your ideas are still the most important ones in the room.”

Nandita Singh Maan ♡

Carolyn Russo

Artist + Educator

Carolyn is a paraeducator in an integrated preschool classroom at Foster Elementary School in Hingham. She loves working with children and helping them grow through creative exploration and art.

Carolyn began her career in the corporate world, specializing in print and digital graphic design. Her passion for teaching art to children grew through volunteer projects, educational activities, and hands-on art experiences with her own children. That passion ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in art education.

Today, Carolyn cannot imagine a more rewarding career than helping young children empower themselves through artistic and creative expression. She is excited to be part of The Boston Artistry and to share her creativity, love of art, and knowledge with students of all ages, children and adults alike.

Carolyn lives on the South Shore with her husband, their three children, and their dog, Reuben.

Casey “Kc”

Studio Artist + Instructor

My name is Casey but I go by Kc for short! My art journey started in third grade when I went to my first art camp. I loved it so much I continued going to art camps throughout the years and learned different art mediums like ceramics, figure drawing, painting, and sculpture arts. I started taking an interest in sewing when I was 13 and took classes for a few years. After getting my own sewing machine for my 14th birthday, I began altering and making my own clothes, which I still do today. I went to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) for game design and focused on making 3D digital spooky creatures for games. However, once I graduated, I realized how much I missed making physical art, and what better place to go than the sewing and painting capital of Hingham, The Boston Artistry.

Ashley “Ash”

Studio Artist + Party Host

Hi! My name is Ash, and I’m so thrilled to be a part of the team at the Boston Artistry! I’m a Hingham native who grew up taking art classes and sewing lessons and never looked back. In 2025 I earned a Certificate of Fashion Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and I’m a current student of the Theater Arts program at Massasoit Community College. Through combining my passion for both theater and fashion I’ve discovered a love for costume design, and have worked with several theaters across Massachusetts. I love to experiment with all kinds of hands-on crafts like embroidery, needle felting, jewelry making, clothing upcycling, you name it. I believe everyone is an artist, and I hope I can help spread the joy of creating with everybody who walks through our doors.
