Custom Project Care Lifetime Glow Up Made By Hand 69 Water Street

Every creation made at The Boston Artistry Sneaker Bar™ is a unique piece of wearable or functional art. Proper care will help protect your child's creativity, preserve the colors, and extend the life of their project. Find your project below and follow those instructions.

Painted Sweatshirts, Sweatpants & T Shirts

+

Before the first wash: turn the garment inside out and iron the back of the design using heat only. This helps set the painted artwork.

Do this
  • Wash inside out using cold water and a gentle detergent.
  • Use a gentle cycle and wash with similar colors.
  • Hang dry or air dry only.
Never do this
  • Never place the iron directly on the design.
  • Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or harsh chemicals.
  • Never scrub or use a brush directly on the artwork.
  • Do not place custom apparel in the dryer.

Tie Dye Cotton Projects

+

Applies to tie dye T shirts, pillowcases, and other cotton projects. Good news: the dye is set and thoroughly rinsed as part of our studio process, so no additional setting is required at home.

Do this
  • Wash tie dye projects separately for the first few washes.
  • Use cold water, gentle detergent, and a gentle cycle.
  • After the first few washes, wash with similar colors.
  • Turn T shirts and other wearables inside out before washing.
  • Hang dry or air dry whenever possible to preserve the colors.
Never do this
  • Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or harsh chemicals.
  • Do not let wet tie dye rest against clothing, furniture, or light colored surfaces. Some color transfer may occur.

Custom Painted Sneakers

+

Cure first. Painted sneakers must cure for at least 24 hours after the artwork is completed before they are worn.

Do this
  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Allow sneakers to air dry naturally if they become damp.
Never do this
  • Do not machine wash or soak custom sneakers.
  • Do not scrub or use a brush directly on the painted areas.
  • Keep sneakers away from excessive water, rain, snow, and mud.
  • Avoid rough surfaces that may scratch or damage the artwork.

Custom Basketballs & Soccer Balls

+

Custom sports balls are ornamental keepsakes and should be displayed or handled gently.

Do this
  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Store indoors and away from excessive moisture.
Never do this
  • Do not play with them on concrete, pavement, asphalt, or other rough surfaces.
  • Do not soak the ball or use harsh cleaning products.
  • Never scrub or use a brush directly on the artwork.

Custom Tote Bags

+

Before cleaning: iron the reverse side of the fabric using heat only to help set the artwork.

Do this
  • Spot clean gently using cold water and mild detergent.
  • Hang dry or air dry only.
Never do this
  • Never iron directly on the design.
  • Do not soak, scrub, or machine wash the tote bag.
  • Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or harsh chemicals.
  • Do not place custom tote bags in the dryer.

Creating art with sustainability in mind

We want children to understand that when something begins to look worn, it does not need to be thrown away.

A worn project can become another opportunity to imagine, redesign, refresh, and create again. Through our lifetime glow up promise, we encourage children to care for what they own, keep building on their creativity, and make more sustainable choices.

Something that looks worn is not waste. It is another creative opportunity.
