The Process
Arrive with clean sneakers made from 100% genuine leather, canvas, or mesh. Smooth, light-colored surfaces are generally easiest to prep, paint, and detail.
We clean and prepare the surface using the prep method that best suits your sneaker material. Premium sessions have this completed before workshop time.
Plan your concept, color palette and placement with guidance before paint touches the sneakers.
Use professional sneaker paints, brushes, and color-mixing techniques selected for your sneaker material, with a designer or trained instructor nearby.
Your sneakers are finished with a protective seal. Wear them out or leave them with us for professional detailing and finishing when applicable.

Sessions are led by Nandita, a footwear designer with more than a decade of experience in the global fashion industry, or by a trained design instructor. This is a guided design experience, not a basic craft class.

We want your custom sneakers to be worn, not left in a box. Qualifying work created at The Boston Artistry is supported by our Worry-Free Wear Paint Warranty when the project is properly cared for and used under normal wear conditions.
Warranty support depends on following The Boston Artistry care instructions. Avoid soaking, machine washing, aggressive scrubbing, heavy rain and snow.
Proper care is part of the warranty. Follow your TBA care instructions to keep your custom project looking its best.
