Maker Time • Hingham, MA

That Project You Keep Meaning to Finish? Bring It.

One Sunday morning a month. Your project. Your pace. A little help when you need it.

Maker Time is a monthly creative open studio for people already working on something. Submit your project ahead of time, show us what you are making, and we will let you know whether we can help, and what the support will cost, before you come in.

Why Maker Time Exists

Sometimes you do not need another class.

You need a table, some protected time, the right tool, a second set of eyes or someone who actually knows how to get you through the part where you got stuck.

Maker Time is for creative people who already have an idea in motion and want a community studio where they can keep working on it.

  • Bring your own project

You are not choosing from a class menu. The project starts with you.

  • Work alongside makers

Come for focus, momentum and the energy of other people making things.

  • Ask for real help

When you need expertise, we can plan professional artist support in advance.

  • Know the cost first

We review your project and confirm the support price before you attend.

Show Us What You’re Making.

We review every project before Maker Time so the Sunday session is actually useful when you arrive.

  1. 01

    Tell us about it.

Submit the project, where you are in the process and what you want to finish.

  2. 02

    Send a photo.

Show us the current project so we can understand the materials, scale and stage.

  3. 03

    We review it.

We figure out whether you need workspace, advice, specific tools or hands-on artist guidance.

  4. 04

    We invite you in.

If it is a fit, you receive the price and next available Maker Time before confirming your place.

Maker Sunday

Two hours to stop putting it off.

Maker Time opens once a month on a select Sunday from 10 AM to 12 PM at our Hingham studio. Settle in with your own project, work beside other local makers and use the time to actually move it forward.

  • Come with a planWe already know what you are working on before you arrive.
  • Your support is preparedIf your project needs an artist or specific studio tools, we plan that before the session.
  • Make at your own paceThis is a working session, not an everyone-does-the-same-project class.

Maker Project Request

Show us the project.

Use our short project form to tell us what you are making and upload a photo. It opens in a new tab; we review it before offering a Maker Time place.

  • What are you making?A quick description of the project and where it currently stands.
  • Where are you stuck?Tell us the part you need help, guidance or tools for.
  • Upload a photoSeeing the project helps us understand what is realistically needed.
  • We reply with next stepsIf the project is a fit, we send the support price and an available Maker Sunday.

What Can You Bring?

Your project does not need to have started at The Boston Artistry. It simply needs to be something we can safely and realistically support in the studio.

Maker Time FAQs

Before you show us your project.

Is Maker Time a class?

No. Maker Time is a monthly creative open studio for people bringing their own projects. You work independently, with planned professional help available when your project requires it.

When does Maker Time happen?

Maker Time is planned for one select Sunday morning each month from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Can I just walk in?

No. Projects are reviewed before the session so we can make sure the studio, timing and available support are appropriate for what you want to do.

How much does it cost?

There is not one flat price for every project. We quote the support before you attend based on what you are making, the tools or materials involved and whether artist guidance is needed.

Will someone finish my project for me?

Maker Time is designed to help you continue or finish your own work. The level of guidance is determined in advance based on the project you submit.

What if my project is not a fit?

Not every project can be safely or realistically supported in a two-hour studio session. If yours is not a fit for Maker Time, we will let you know before you book.

Ready to finally finish it?

Send us a photo and a few details. We’ll tell you whether Maker Time is the right fit.
